Music Ministry & Folk Group

The Music Ministry at Immaculate Conception consist of both the folk group, which usually plays at the 10:30am Sunday Mass, and Jim Herrick, who plays the organ and sings at most any other service. The Folk Group currently consists of singers, a guitarist, a pianist, and an oboist. The group began in the summer of 1995 as part of the parish Music Ministry. Members are drawn from all segments of the parish. In addition to singing at Sunday Mass, they present an annual half hour carol sing-along before Mass on Christmas Eve, sing at First Communion, and participate in the Easter Season Liturgies. The Folk Group has also sung at neighboring churches as well as the Deanery-wide Confirmation. With a repertoire ranging from fold, to patriotic, to showtunes, the Folk Group goes beyond the parish and performs in the community. Venues have included: Merrimack County Nursing Home, John H. Whittaker Place, Peabody Home (Franklin), Mountain Ridge (Franklin), Interfaith Caregivers, Catholic Daughters of America and the Boscawen Congregational Church Annual Picnic. If you are interested in being a part of the Music Ministry please feel free to contact John Keegan at (603) 796-2852. Folk Group Rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm-9:00pm.
